Looking out over the farmland from the top of Vroman's Nose

Vroman’s Nose

This was the first time I hiked up Vroman’s Nose. The views were absolutely stunning and the crowds were not too bad. As I was coming down around 10-10:30 am, the crowds were starting to pick up.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous and oddly enough some of the trees at the lower elevation were beginning to change but the leaves at the higher elevations were largely unchanged. Typically, it is the opposite.

The hike is not terribly hard, although it is a little steep and rocky going down. As someone who hasn’t hiked in a while, this was a great warm up to more difficult and advanced hikes.

Peace Pagoda

This spot is so peaceful and relaxing. I love coming here to get a fresh perspective, a change of pace, and to meditate.

The Peace Pagoda is located in Grafton, NY, and is away from all of the hustle and bustle. The grounds have various places to sit and walk around.

Expressing gratitude can change someone’s life

I have always enjoyed watching CBS Sunday Morning. The stories are always unique, heartfelt, genuine, and inspirational.

This morning, one of the segments stood out to me. It was about a thank-you note from a third grader that a 95-year-old World War II veteran held onto for over a decade. My words cannot do the story justice, you should watch it yourself.

It is an important lesson that whether we like it or not, what we do and say affects those around us.

As in this case, expressing gratitude can change someone’s life. So write that letter or speak those words to those you love, appreciate, and want to thank. You never know what that will truly mean to the person on the receiving end.
