Designated Authority
The body each EU Member State names to receive complaints, monitor compliance, and where applicable impose sanctions under the EAA. Some Member States designate a single accessibility authority; others split responsibility between sectoral regulators (e.g., banking, transport, telecoms).
The official body each EU country appoints to handle accessibility complaints and enforce the law.
Article 19 of the EAA. The authority's powers, contact details, and complaint procedure must be made publicly known by the Member State.
Waarom dit belangrijk is
Knowing the right authority is operationally important: that is who you respond to under information requests, who imposes corrective action, and who consumers complain to. For multi-market operators the list is essential. The Commission maintains an indicative list as Member States notify their designations.
