I like to think of them as sentence enhancers more than replacing written out text. 

With the rise in emoji popularity, many businesses and brands are now using them as a way to market its brand and message.

On World Emoji Day, many businesses were taking to Twitter and other social sites to seem more personable. And with good reason. 

According to HubSpot, the use of emojis can help increase engagement with content posted online whether it’s a website or on social media. 

HubSpot found emojis used in Twitter posts saw an increase of 25% and 57% on Facebook.

Use emojis to help people remember your content

A study found that using emojis can help shape attitudes around content and make it more memorable. 

Memorable content is a top priority among brands and businesses to have an effective digital strategy.

Here are the top emojis being used on various social networking websites, according to HubSpot. 

The best practice is not to overuse them and only use them where they complement existing content. Emojis by themselves can be confusing and its intent may be misinterpreted.
