Some reflections on 2021

Happy New Year! What a year 2021 has been with the year starting much how 2020 ended. The year was filled with a lot of unexpected twists and turns but also a lot of hope and optimism.

Personally, 2021 was another year of change, personal healing, and growth. The end of one chapter in my life and the beginning of a new one. It was a continued period of self-discovery and introspection from 2020.

The biggest lesson of the year for me was perseverance. When things get difficult it is so easy to get frustrated and give up. It was a reminder that sometimes these challenges and obstacles are there to help us grow and learn and instead of running away from them and leaning in.

2021 also taught me that while you can plan for a particular outcome, it very rarely will follow the path that you think. While sometimes I tend to fight this unpredictability, it is what makes life fun and interesting. This unpredictability is what helps us adapt and grow.

When I look back at this year, I see how much I have changed and grown over the past 12 months. I have become more comfortable in speaking my truth, becoming more of a leader both personally and professionally, creating the change I wanted, and challenging myself to try new things. For me, personal growth and development are so important. I am looking forward to continuing to grow and working on myself in the weeks and months ahead.
