Decluttering

Various items blurred on a desk or table.

Today, I decided to do some decluttering and organizing. It is such a freeing experience to put things in their proper spot.

Over the past few weeks, I have been watching Tiny House Nation, a show about building tiny homes across the country. I have been mainly watching it to get some inspiration for projects around my house. There is also a part where they make future tiny homeowners go through the process of “paring down.” Since most tiny houses are 300 square feet or less, you have to reduce the amount of stuff.

For many of us, we have a lot of stuff that we simply do not use. Doing an inventory of my house, there are several items that I will be getting rid of since I have not used or rarely use the items.

Each item should have a purpose or it becomes clutter. Clutter becomes distracting and disrupts our inner harmony.

Decluttering is not just for the physical items in life. We all need to declutter and release energy that is no longer serving us.

Spring is symbolic of rebirth and renewal. What better way than to do some spring cleaning both internally and externally.
