Moving on

Moving on… I’m happy to announced that I’ve accepted a position with the New York State Comptroller’s Office as a digital content specialist. I’m excited to help the agency with their digital projects and goals.

As I round out my final days in news, I can’t help but reflect on my journey. The news business is truly like a family, a close knit group of people telling stories of tragedies, love, hardship, compassion, struggles, and everything in between.

Over the past 7 years, I have worked with amazing and talented colleagues and friends from all around the country at the ABC/FOX affiliates in Burlington, Vermont (WFFF/WVNY) and Albany, New York (WTEN/WXXA) where I have helped cover and break important stories online.

When I took my first job at WFFF/WVNY, about a month after graduating college, digital news was becoming an increasing and important player in the news business. That trend has only continued during my time at WTEN/WXXA with people expecting more stories, with more information, delivered to their phones faster than ever.

As I embark on a new chapter in my career, I’m especially grateful for those that have helped me get to where I am today. I wouldn’t be the writer, the journalist, or the person I am today without the contributions, encouragement, and lessons I have learned over the years.

While my current time in news is coming to an end, I know it will always be a part of me and who I am.

Thank you! Here is to new beginnings!
