How do you truly see yourself?

Mirror on top of wooden desk.

One of the biggest life lessons and discoveries I have made over the years is about your perspective of the world.

I do not let others dictate my world. While others play a role in my life, it is up to me to grow, invest in myself, and create the world I want to live.

I am currently reading The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest. It is all about learning triggers in your life that may be holding you back.

One quote that I came across in the book stood out and made me think about how a difference in perspective can determine how you approach this question.

It asks you to consider how you feel about your life when you do not care how others feel about it.

This question gets to the core of who you are. How you truly see yourself. It does not matter how others view you because if you are on your purpose, you will be surrounded by those who are genuinely meant to be in your life.

Oftentimes, because we care what others think of us, whether it is due to insecurities or fear, leads us away from our purpose.

I try to approach everything I do through my mission and core values. It helps keep me on my path and ensures that I do not drift away from my mission and life purpose.

How do you feel about your life if you did not factor in the opinions of others?
