Social media gives us a false sense of connection

Social Media Apps

We have so many opportunities to connect with others through social media.

Social media can give us a false sense of connection with others. Social media can create opportunities to connect with others but we have to act on it.

Sure we can get some satisfaction from chatting or scrolling through our feed and seeing updates from our family and friends, but it does not replace in-person connection.

I think that is one of the things the pandemic showed us that we need human connection despite all these online platforms to connect.

This is not limited to social media, but all technology and websites. With proper balance, I think social media can be an asset for connection, not a replacement.

Thoughts?
