Taking chances

Three dice being rolled.

Taking chances no matter how big or small they seem forces us to get out of our comfort zone.

In order to take on that risk, we have to be comfortable with being vulnerable and accepting whatever the outcome may be.

I do not believe that rejection is failing or something not working out. It is hard in the moment to get your mind around the concept that rejection is just redirection, but when you take a step back from it all, some things are just not meant to be and that is okay.

Over the weekend, I was reminded of this. I was sitting enjoying my breakfast and latte at a local cafe near my home. While I was there, one of the baristas was mustering up the courage to give someone she found attractive her contact information.

She was talking amongst her coworkers and while she went in the back the person left before she had the opportunity to give him her info. She was a little disappointed and was kicking herself a little bit after.

Her coworkers, who were completely aware of what was going on, were reassuring her that she did not completely miss her shot and that “he’ll be back, he’ll be back.”

It happens to all of us. It is a friendly reminder to take that chance without having any attachments or expectations.

This is not an easy thing to do. When we are in the moment, it is so easy to get caught up in everything that is happening right in front of us and letting our mind take over.

It is something I have struggled with, but pushing yourself and be comfortable with the unknown and taking that chance is so worthwhile, regardless of what it is.

What is meant to be will be, no matter what. Nothing that is meant for you will ever pass you by.
