My billboard message would inspire those to live a more simple life

Empty billboard in black and white.

No matter where we go, we are surrounded by messages, slogans, and advertisements trying to get our attention.

We all have the power to influence the people who we meet, see, and engage with on a regular basis. If I could put a message on a billboard that people see every day it would be something like this:

You are enough. Live your life full of love, forgiveness, and without expectation. Be content. Everything that is meant to be will be.

Many of us at different times in our life need a little encouragement. A knowing that we are enough in a world that can be fast-paced and superficial at times. I try to let those closest to me know that on a regular basis.

Expressing love for oneself and others is the highest emotion that we can embody. When we are in a loving state, we can create a positive and enriching environment for us and those around us.

Forgiveness can bring us freedom. While it can be hard and challenging, it allows us to release situations and experiences that are no longer serving us. It removes the power of a situation.

Events fill each one of our days. Some are impactful and others are more mundane. How we relate to these daily events or our expectations of them can determine our feelings. Buddha said, “The root of suffering is attachment.” Living your life without expectations or attachments will let you be present and experience things as is. One event happens and another will follow it. Let it go.

While many of us strive for happiness in our lives, I seek contentment and peace. Just like sadness, happiness is temporary but contentment is a more sustainable state of being. Being content will allow you to see that everything that is meant to be will be. Everything in your life will unfold the way it was meant to.

We are all in control of our lives and this message serves as an inspiration to live a more simple life.

If you could put a message on a billboard what message would it say?
